Over the weekend I was searching the web for a fathers day present. I know it’s a little early but I like to think ahead about thinks like that. Anyways, I was searching the web for things he would enjoy. I know that he really likes bluegrass and old country music so I started going through various different sites. One that really stuck out to me was Ricky Skaggs website. He is an amazing Bluegrass singer and has an amazing website.
The overall appearance of the website is great. I really love the color choices that they chose. The browns, reds and oranges really give it an old time feel. I also really liked the background of the site. I also really like their navigation bar and their top header. The header has photographs of the various artist that are signed with his record company. The photos do change but they change very gradually and that makes it pleasing to the eye. The navigation is very easy on this site. I think that anyone would be able to navigate this site with ease.
I think my favorite part of the whole site would have to be the fact that when you click on a particular group or artist page you are able to listen to some of their music. For someone like me who has never heard of these particular musicians you are able to listen to a little bit of what they are all about. I think that this feature really draws people in and if they like what they hear they might just go to the store page and purchase one of their Cd’s.
I really like this website and in the future when I am looking to purchase something for my father I will probably return to this site!

So I have to agree that this site is very nice. I don’t think it is too much for the page even though it seems a little powerful. I like the color scheme althought I think i would have chose a different color than orange for the blog entries. It’s not hard to read but I think it’s hard on the eyes a little bit because the background is about that same color.
